How to edit PDF text in your browser without uploading the file
Edit selectable PDF text, fill forms and annotate with Nitrafe One PDF Free. Learn when a PDF needs OCR and which tools require Pro.
Before editing a PDF, check whether its text is selectable. A page that looks like text may actually be a scanned image. Nitrafe One PDF edits selectable text where the document supports it; OCR for scanned pages is not included. Keep a copy of the original document before you begin.
Open https://nitrafe.one/products/pdf and create a free Nitrafe account or sign in. Open a PDF from your device in the editor. Document processing happens inside your browser; the document is not uploaded to Nitrafe. Your account and subscription are managed online separately from your file.
Choose the existing-text editing tool, select the text you want to change, and enter your replacement. Font preservation depends on the fonts and structure available in the PDF. Check the result carefully, especially when a longer replacement could affect spacing or layout. If a page is a scan, use a separate OCR workflow before trying to edit its text.
The Free plan also supports adding text, images, comments, highlights and shapes, filling interactive forms, and rotating or deleting pages. It supports documents up to 50 MB and 200 pages. You can download your edited document without a watermark. Review the downloaded file in a PDF viewer before sharing it.
Signatures, stamps, true redaction, merging and advanced page organization are Pro features. Compare the current Free and Pro feature list at https://nitrafe.one/products/pdf#compare before choosing a plan. You do not need Pro for the Free editing and annotation tools described above.
Local document processing does not make a shared computer private. Close the document when you finish and choose an appropriate folder for your saved copy. When handling information you intend to remove permanently, use a proper redaction workflow rather than covering text with a shape.
