How to exclude files and folders from Windows cleanup
Use Cleaner’s preview and exclusions to keep control of what a cleanup can remove.
A useful cleanup starts with knowing what will change. Nitrafe One Cleaner 1.0.21 provides a real scan preview and exclusions so you can review candidates before choosing a cleanup.
Start with a scan. Its duration depends on the selected categories, file count, storage speed and whether there is anything to inspect. A quick result alone does not prove that a scan is fake or thorough. Review the paths, categories and sizes in the preview.
Review before you remove. Expand the results and leave out anything you want to keep. A scan is a list of candidates, not permission to delete everything on your PC. Close an application before clearing its temporary data; locked files can be skipped.
For files or folders you regularly want to preserve, use permanent exclusions. Check those exclusions when you change a cleanup profile. Keep personal documents, active projects and downloads you still need outside your selected cleanup targets.
After cleaning, compare the result with the preview and review the history report. A file can be skipped because it is locked, changed or no longer exists. Space recovered can differ from the original estimate. Cleaner does not promise a faster PC from every cleanup.
Back up important work separately. Excluding a folder from Cleaner is not a backup and cannot protect it from disk failure, malware or accidental deletion in another app.
